Disabled Access

Disabled access to UK Government offices

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the UK Government Offices are keen to ensure that their buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public. Wherever possible, we have made our buildings and services accessible.  Sometimes, however, this is not possible due to security or other restrictions. In these situations we will endeavour to provide a service or access to the building in an alternative way to ensure equality of access for disabled people. To assist disabled visitors, we have set out below details of disabled access to our Consulate General and UK Government Offices in Geneva.
Click on this link for information about disabled access to our Embassy in Berne.
We hope this information is helpful.

Disabled Access at Geneva

General Physical Access

  • Exterior wheelchair access ramp from rear carpark
  • Main entrance to the building is accessed by two sets of automatic sliding double glass doors wide enough to enable easy access for wheelchair users.
  • A spacious, well-lit lobby occupies the ground floor on a single level with paved flooring free from carpet and any steps.
  • The UK Government Offices in Geneva occupy the sixth and seventh floors of the building to which access can be gained by four lifts in the lobby. All lifts are suitable for wheelchair access. Toilets for public use are situated in the Consulate General waiting area on the sixth floor. This includes a disabled toilet.
  • There is a disabled car parking space available at the rear of the building in the visitor car park. Access to the car park is via a button-operated barrier. The barrier opens automatically on exiting the car park.
